OUR RAP
The extra song we added was a rap that I made . It was an original composition that had a fun little joke at the end with all respect to Mr.Tillay.
"Why did Mr.Tillay assign a long term project"
I feel Mr. Tillay assigned a long term project to see how
well we are at time management. It is
very important that we get out the habit of procrastination. Especially being
from Vallejo a lot of us are accustomed to procrastinating. To show that no
long term project can not be done at last minute to a perfection. To do an
assignment well, one must take the necessary steps to ensure success. To say
you have to plan in order to get something presentable and you can half fast
anything. That when we get into college or have jobs and we have projects we have
to do we need to make sure we research, plan , and be on top of the project at
all times. This was a good experience telling me I need to work more and harder
as a student and a contributor to my fellow classmates and future teams.
Identifying your type of instrument
My instrument that I created for this Junk Band project was
called the pop-tar. It included a two liter bottle, string, and a dowel (or any
type of wood that was stable) preferably a pencil. The stretched string from
the bottom to the top of the bottle vibrates as you pluck it. This causes the
bottle(soundbox) to vibrate, which leads to the air vibrating so you can hear
the sound. Stretch the string tighter by turning the dowel at the top and the
pitch becomes higher. Turn it in the opposite direction to make the pitch
lower. The tighter you turn the dowel the more compressed the plastic gets
which leaves little space for the air to vibrate off of which makes the sharper
sound. Plucking hard on the string means putting a lot of force and energy into
the pluck making the string vibrate a longer amount of time. My defects in this project was the amount if time i had to spend the dowel in the performance. And the higher pitched instrument over powered mine.

Evaluation of instrument
The instrument I made was the pop-tar. It is made out of a 2 liter bottle, string, & a piece of wood. When I first heard about the "Battle of the Bands" project I was assumed that we were supposed to make "junk instruments" so that is what I did gathered materials around the house and made my instrument.
The sound of my instrument is the sound would be of a ukulele but with one string instead of 4 ! It produces high notes and low notes. To play my instrument you have to strum the string inside of the bottle. It was a good contribute to the band. My group practice 4 times for this project.
